    CLEO

Cleo is a lovely and gentle mixed breed and approximately 4 years old. We believe there is some German Shepherd, Lab and Rottweiler in the mix. In January 2009, she was surrendered to the Humane Society with nine other dogs after police received complaints about abuse.

Currently, she is enjoying herself at her foster home at Doggie Minder, a crate-free dog daycare and boarding facility in Whitby, Ontario, Canada (just East of Toronto).

Cleo is a smart girl who picks up on basic commands quickly. She’s still jumping up on people occasionally (we’re working on that), other than that she is very well behaved. She is kennel trained, since staying with us she has not been crated and doesn’t chew or destroy things. She’s got a busy life with other dogs.

Cleo is very social with other dogs and loves to run and play all day. She is friendly with people and loves to give and receive hugs and kisses. She doesn’t meet a lot of children at the facility, but the few she’s met she’s liked very much. We are not sure how she is around cats. Cleo is very submissive and sometimes tinkles on the floor if she's afraid of a new person.

She has a lot of energy and needs to be with someone who can spend time with her and provide her with an active lifestyle together or can afford a dog walker or doggie daycare a couple of times a week. Cleo needs to go to a family that already has a social dog so she doesn’t develop separation anxiety when the humans leave the house. It would be an asset if the new owner has had experience with a large active breed before.

Cleo was spayed recently. She has been on a raw diet since she’s in the care of Doggie Minder and we are looking for a home that will continue feeding her raw to give her the best chance of a quality life. We can recommend reasonably priced meat sources in the Durham Region, feeding raw is NOT more expensive or more work than so-called "premium" kibble.

Adoption fee for Cleo is $100, which will be spent on food & supplies for our foster pets.

    BRANDY BOO

Brandy Boo is a Pyrenean Mountain dog approximately 3 years old. We found her wandering along Highway 7 nearly starved and covered in pee and poo. She clearly had never been in a house before, but must have escaped from being locked up in a small outdoor kennel her whole life.

Currently, she is enjoying herself at her foster home at Doggie Minder, a crate-free dog daycare and boarding facility in Whitby, Ontario, Canada (just East of Toronto). We call her the little polar bear, as that's what she looks like!

Brandy Boo is a smart and energetic girl who knows the rules but doesn't always choose to follow them. She’s still jumping up on people occasionally (we’re working on that), other than that she is very well behaved. She needs a lot of exercise and mental stimulation, she tends to find some paper or cardboard to rip up if she gets bored. She needs a busy life with another dog.

Brandy Boo is very social with other dogs and loves to run and play all day. She is initially a bit vocal when meeting dogs and people, but once she stiffs them she is very friendly with people and loves to give and receive hugs and kisses. She hasn't met any children at the facility, so we are not sure how she would be with them. Brandy Boo is fine with cats.

She has a lot of energy and needs to be with someone who can spend time with her and provide her with an active lifestyle together or can afford a dog walker or doggie daycare a couple of times a week.
